W.E.B. Task Force

The W.E.B. Major Crimes and Drug Task Force is a collaborative, multi-jurisdictional investigative unit that proactively investigates drug offenses and/or other major felony crimes. The task force has been designed to take a proactive approach to combating drug activity and other violent and/or felony crimes within the borders of the three member towns. The purpose of the multi-jurisdictional approach is to foster law enforcement through cooperation in a cost-effective manner.

The task force was created with the support of the Edward Byrne Memorial State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance Program from the U.S. Department of Justice, administered through the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety Programs Division.

The W.E.B. has been working together since 1999 and is made up of 12 detectives from the East Bridgewater, Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, Whitman, and Bridgewater State University Police Departments.

The W.E.B. is one of many multi-jurisdictional task forces administered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety.
