Police Cadet Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must have a High School Diploma, be between the ages of 18 and 23, and must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
These are non-civil service at-will appointments that expire when a Police Cadet reaches the age of 25. All candidates must be physically and psychologically fit, of high moral character, and a person of sound judgment seeking a career in law enforcement and willing to make a commitment to serving the community.
Benefits
Salary: $22 per hour, health and paid holiday benefits, vacation leave after one year.
Duties & Responsibilities
Answering telephones and communicating with the public; maintaining and filing records; receiving complaints and completing reports; monitoring and assisting with detainees; and performing other administrative tasks as assigned.
All candidates must pass the following
- Background investigation
- Oral interview board
- Physical fitness exam
- Psychological screening
- Drug screening
- Medical examination
